SESSION 1: The New Talent Onboarding Journey

Learn how at Charles River Laboratories, a global CRO (consulting research organization) with over 18,000 employees in over 94 global locations is growing, hiring over 3000 new talent each year, designed an innovative global and consistent onboarding process and experience that facilitates the successful immersion of new hires into their culture and their roles from offer acceptance through their first 12 months.  They moved from process to experience, created consistent strategies and tools, developed connection-focused roles and included a listening strategy.  Hear about how their Global Onboarding Program leverage leaders in local countries to deliver virtual as well as onsite cultural and foundational onboarding orientation experiences; how managers, buddies and onboarding champions give new talent a strong sense of belonging to the CRL community; uses their listening strategy to enhance the program as well as the positive impact it is making even during these unprecedented times.

SESSION 2: The Value of Onboarding from an Executive Perspective 

 

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia 

The goal of this session is to have the leader of CHOP’s Human Resources Department spent time discussing why he is committed to supporting a solid onboarding program, especially in the virtual environment we are currently navigating. Mr. Allen will share his thoughts regarding the benefits he realizes at the executive level and enterprise wide when the investment in onboarding is strong. He will also offer his advice on how he sees the business case for supporting onboarding at the executive level in the future and provide time for a Q&A.

SESSION 3 : CHOP Operation “Orientation Reboot"

In this session the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia onboarding team members will share their experience of how they were able to take their traditional instructor led day 1 orientation to the next level, transforming the day into a “gaming” experience.  During the experience new hires receive all of the important and required information they need while completing fun, interactive activities that can be accessed both on a virtual platform or live in person facilitation.

At Nebraska Medicine, a health system with more than 8,000 employees across the Omaha, Neb. community, the onboarding and nurse residency program teams saw an opportunity to work together to better prepare new employees for their first months of employment and beyond. In this session, learn more about the strategies developed at Nebraska Medicine to facilitate the onboarding of new employees, from the day an offer is extended through the first 18 months of employment. Topics covered will include how to strengthen relationships with new employees, develop meaningful materials for leaders and provide support for clinical staff, particularly new nurses, as they assimilate to your organization’s culture and values.
